Ruthelia Dreams: The Cutest Little Shop

Yesterday, I met my friend Luke for a catch up in town. We did a bit of shopping and he said he knew of a really nice cafe that I'd like. It's quite far out of the city centre for me, but it's close to York St John Uni, so if you live near there get yourself down. Actually, if you live anywhere in York then I'd say it's worth a visit.

The cafe was actually a little shop, and it was one of the cutest shops I've ever been in! It sells greetings cards, gifts and cute little nic naks as well as vintage accessories like retro phones! Theres also a sweet weighing section, with sweets in jars that you can pick and choose from. And there's also loads of cuddly toys (I'm still 4 years old at heart). Upstairs, there's a cute section of second hand children's clothes and toys. I don't have children, but I think this is a really nice idea as kids grow out of things so fast and it can be expensive for parents constantly buying new things!

Downstairs, at the back of the shop, there's a little cafe area. There are a few cute tables and chairs set out and you can order hot drinks and cakes or scones. I got myself a lovely hot chocolate with cream & marshmallows and a cheese scone with butter. Absolutely delicious.

So if you're ever in York and fancy a cuppa in a quiet cafe and a browse round, get yourself down to birdies perch (even the name is adorable)!
