Today I'm going to bring you all the joys of my personal yoga journey, why I do yoga and why you should do it too! Yoga is honestly amazing for so many things, general health and well being, strength, flexibility, fitness, mental health, calm and happiness. I don't know how I ever lived without it.
I was brave once, I did yoga outside and had pink hair
I first got into yoga in my first year of university, when my fantastic friend Becky recommended it for my anxiety/depression. I am still incredibly grateful and thankful for her inspiration every day! Because, despite being on medication and despite struggling, yoga has helped me to come to terms with my issues. Yoga has helped me to focus on the here and now, to stretch away my worries, to relax in Savasana at the end of a class, letting all the worries and stresses in my life melt into my mat. Yoga has saved me in so many ways that I can't even comprehend.
Yoga is a journey, it is something that I can always come back to. So when I feel down, or lost, I know that five minutes of yoga will help. And because it helps so much, five minutes of self-practice turns into 30 minutes, and I fall in love with the feeling of living. I love breathing through the difficult postures, I love feeling strong. I love feeling empowered, that no matter how much certain aspects of my life feel, at times, like they are falling apart, I have my yoga.
